When you lack the luxury of time, making money on or offline can seem like an impossible task. How are you supposed to do that when you're working at a life-sucking nine-to-five job? While the stability of full-time employment might allow most to sleep well at night, it doesn't empower your creative juices to search for new income-producing strategies.
This is one of my favorite extra income ideas. Moms can earn a killing writing freelance articles during their spare time. You don't have to be an English expert or have a journalism background either. There are plenty of successful blogs and businesses looking to hire writers to share their personal experiences. Some of these sites will even pay you upfront for your articles which is great if you're looking to make some quick cash.
If you have a social media account, try out Klout. The company tracks your social media usage, determines how big and what type of audience you draw based on the subject matter of your updates and posts. Using this information, you’re qualified to receive free items, tickets, etc. Check their website often to find ways of earning free stuff by doing what you’re already doing online…boring the rest of us…
According to FlexJobs’ survey of working parents, the ability to work flexibly is one of the top contributors to a healthy work-life balance. The FlexJobs database lists thousands of work-at-home jobs that offer stay-at-home moms and dads the ability to work comfortably from a home office. FlexJobs also offers a downloadable FREE guide to finding a remote job to help in your search.
Contact the company directly. If you use a product or service and want to recommend it but you can’t find evidence of an affiliate program, consider approaching them and asking if they are willing to set one up (maybe with your help). Highlight your audience and the value of your recommendation. Explain that an affiliate program is simply rewarding happy customers (you!) for promoting, and they don’t have to pay until a sale is made.

My 10 Favorite Online Courses and Schools Before I found the work at home job that was right for me (more than a decade ago), I remember surfing the Internet daily for at least a year, looking for remote job opportunities or online training that would lead to a home-based career. Back then, there wasn't a lot out there for a single mom seeking work from … Read More

The worst part was that I didn’t even have a great paying job to go back to. If I went back to work and paid someone to watch my baby, not only would I not be with him during the day… I would literally be working for a couple hundred bucks per week (after day care costs and gas for my car). Hardly adding to our bottom line, hardly even paying for groceries.

17. Amazon – Have you heard of FBA? It stands for “Fulfilled by Amazon” and it’s getting pretty popular. Basically, you buy products (in bulk is best) and ship them to Amazon for them to store. When your products sell, Amazon packs them up, ships them out and sends you the money (after taking their cut). There are people making a full-time living from FBA, while others just do it for some extra money.
Online savings accounts usually come with crazy good interest rates to help you grow your money faster (regular in-person banks can’t offer rates as high). We’re fans of CIT Bank and Discover Bank (among others) because their interest rates are often over 25 times the national average. That means the money in your savings account will grow 25 times faster than the pace it’s most likely growing at now. Really, though, you can’t go wrong with pretty much any online savings account that offers over 1.50% APY 🙂
